Sometimes, Tenor trombonists are asked to play Bass trombone. It’s a very valuable skill for tenor trombonists to develop. It will provide more playing opportunities and playing bass will benefit your tenor playing, to be sure. Here are some tips and things to consider when making the switch from tenor to bass……
We have posted a web page that has more info and companion files/links to these video podcasts. The page can be accessed through the web site:

Chris Culver was one of a kind. Cool, hip, a trusted friend, a burning player. He always had a smile and a wise-ass remark. We’ll miss him terribly, because we loved him. Friends that would like to honor this happenin’ cat can make contributions to the scholarship fund established in his honor:

Dr. Colin Holman came to Atlanta for a few days recently. He inspired and coached 2 Brass Bands………the Georgia Brass Band (GBB) and the Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra (GYSO) Brass Band. Both of these ensembles make their home at the new Dozier Centre for the Performing Arts in Kennesaw, Georgia (www.doziercentre.com).
The GBB is gearing up for a triumphant return to the North American Brass Band Association (NABBA) National Competition; and the GYSO Brass Band is an emerging youth group of formidable talent, looking to learn more fully and explore the genre. Thankfully, Dr. Holman agreed to come on camera and discuss one of our favorite subjects: BRASS BAND!!!!!!
Thanks, Colin, for a terrific weekend. Thanks to the Dozier Centre and the Georgia Brass Band for sponsoring his visit.
Please enjoy meeting Dr. Colin Holman.

Jeremy Moeller was recently in Atlanta while touring with the Burning River Brass. After a fantastic concert and some intense Tiko Drum Master, we sat down to learn more about this inspiring artist. Jeremy is presently playing Asst. Principal/2nd Trombone with the San Antonio Symphony and also performs with the Grant Park Orchestra in Chicago. We know you’ll enjoy meeting him. Thanks, Jeremy, for the great “hang”! See you when you return to Atlanta…..very soon we hope.
