It was a wonderful day…….the final concert of the inaugural season of the Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra (GYSO) Brass Band at the beautiful Dozier Centre for the Performing Arts. Joining us to celebrate was Chris Martin, Principal Trumpet of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and somewhat of a local hero! Chris performs on Philip Sparke’s “Song and Dance” and a newly commissioned piece by Eric Alexander. His piece is a trumpet/trombone duet with Brass Band entitled “Toy Soldiers”. It was a big thrill for me to join Chris in playing this very cool piece. Hope you enjoy this episode! Info about the GYSO program is on the Web: http://www.georgiayouthsymphony.org/
