Here it is, folks…..Jennifer Mitchell’s “Atlanta Impressions”, written for the Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra (GYSO) Brass Band. We hope you enjoy it!

In this video, her piece is performed by the Georgia Brass Band. The composer writes of this work:

As a native Atlantan, I have often found inspiration from the beauty and bustle of this urban yet quaint city. “Atlanta Impressions” celebrates the things in Atlanta that make it special for me, from a sunny afternoon in Piedmont Park to our thriving arts community, from the Georgia Aquarium to the chaos of I-285 on a Friday afternoon. I close the piece with a section titled, “I Have a Dream,” celebrating the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and all the things Atlanta has to look forward to in its prosperous future.

Jennifer Mitchell b. 1974
